Getting Personal

I like to spend time getting to know my clients but, to make it fair, here’s a little bit about me…

I grew up in England, just outside of London and came to live in California fifteen years ago. I have dual nationality now which, practically speaking, means Americans think I’m British and the British think I’m American! My accent is all-but gone these days but you’ll hear a trace of it in the odd word or phrase.

I’m an only child and so my friends are my family. I have developed the most amazing and diverse network of friends since I moved to Northern California several years ago. My friends come from many different countries and cultures and I just love how this gives me so many different perspectives on the world.

I asked some of those friends to describe me in 3 words, so I could give you a sense of “who I am” and what it will be like to work with me. These are some of the words that came back:

PASSIONATE DEDICATED OUTGOING GENUINE FRESH PERCEPTIVE VIBRANT ADVENTUROUS IMAGINATIVE

(Ok, I did tell them to pick just the best qualities for this exercise!) I also like to think I have a great sense of humor, although, sadly, I can’t tell a joke to save my life.

When I’m not enjoying a glass of wine with my friends, I’m out and about with my little family. I have a wonderful husband – my best friend – a two year old daughter with a big personality (and strong will to match), plus our two lazy cocker spaniels. Life is good.
